"The country is celebrating the spring of Ajaccio"

This year, The Regional Laboratory for Archaeology has actively participated in the event "The country of Ajaccio celebrates spring" by introducing two tours.
On Saturday, April 10, Helena Paolini-Saez was guiding a group of twenty people for a walk in the hills above the town of Alata, punctuated by a trail of heritage sights, with a stop in the hamlet where U Ranucchiettu a luncheon was organized around an old bread oven restored through a fountain and the remains of an ancient chapel.
On Saturday, April 24, Pierre Committee proposed a course in the hills above the city of Ajaccio, initially Punta Castle. This output, shortened by weather uncertain, nevertheless allowed to talk and see the castle de la Punta and wheat areas, fountains and the ruins of an old Romanesque chapel.

Sweater With Shirt Untucked

A small white horse

Another tender and nostalgic poem by Paul Fort, who was found in a book of my younger years.

To reassure the most sensitive of you, I said that this brave horse, photographed last Sunday seemed to spin a happy life in a peaceful and lovely. We even sympathize with our greatest joy.
I leave you the pleasure of reading this beautiful poem by Paul Fort.
"Lament of the little white horse" that George Brassens sang with such finesse that has characterized so well.

*****

Lament the little white horse

The little horse in the wrong time, so he had the courage!
was a little white horse, and all behind him before.

There was never a good time in that poor landscape
. There was never any spring, neither before nor behind.

But he was always happy, leading the boys of the village,
Through black rain fields, and all behind him before.

His car was pursuing her pretty little tail wild.
Then he was happy, and behind him before them.

But one day in bad weather, one day he was so wise,
It is death by a white flash, and all behind him before.

He died without seeing the beautiful time, so he had the courage!
He died without seeing the spring either before or behind.
Paul Fort.

On the horns of the ram, over there quickly, over there quickly.
On the horns of the ram, over there quickly. It will spin.

On the flow of sourcelet, over there quickly, over there quickly. On the flow of

Jump over the hedge over there quickly, over there quickly.

Real Uggs At Marshalls

memories

A house, a garden, memories

My grandparents

The memories childhood are moments of love and emotion that remain etched in memory
Childhood is a heritage that our parents and grandparents we make available.
Today I wanted to thank them for giving me their love without counting, and taught true values. In my lap I would tell them how much I love them.

Gardens Children's Fund (sonnet)

Childhood, at least call, opens my gardens;
On each of my meaning is everything caress
Wedding echoes of the psalms of high mass
Witnesses
a happy age on Sunday mornings.
Happiness reflects the anodyne
Whose ethics taught the fragile nobility
Inheritance of faith that one day the soul transgresses
Conquered by Love to the lure illegal.
My Heart weakened, tonight still flies
Towards this, revolution, led the dance
Faces unvarnished my young spring.
In new life in this brief hug,
Banal or heady perfumes of all times
I remember you like a nice dream!

The essence of maple

Old Sugar Shack

Hall festivities

The old furnace

Here are some pictures of an old sugar shack in respite. This hut belongs to the family of a friend.

*****

The Sugar Shack is a building constructed for the purpose of making syrup and sugar maple sugar maple itself. It must be located in a dry and sunny, rather on the side of a hill near a water source to the center of the sugar bush from where the hut paths . A slight slope facilitates the construction of Ganou . Its installation in a drier removes some moisture, when snowmelt makes the ground cold and wet.

rectangular in shape, size of the hut is directly related to that of the evaporator
and thus the amount of maple notched. We keep 2 meters before the traffic lights and at least 1 meter at the other end, while the width is three times that of Champion . Everything, including the surrender for wood, not to exceed 12 to 15 meters long and 6 or 7 wide.

It is built of hewn beams and boards. Its roof, dual slope, is covered with shingles and more recently metal. They practice an opening or window
provided with a raised roof about 1 meter and whose sides are panels that can fold down the roof from inside, using ropes and pulleys. This window is intended to create an air flow to the vapors to escape due to boiling sap. It The smoke makes the charm of the countryside throughout the period in which sugars, far in the distance is small columns of white smoke rise from Sugarbush.

A chimney made of sheet metal out smoke from the fire under the evaporator
It must be high enough to have a good draft and avoid the dangers of fire due to sparks which might escape.

The openings are preferably on the south side to promote the sunshine. The door wide open during sunny days to let in warm rays and a lot of clarity. The dirt could be an excellent ground for this kind of under construction over the shelter of the house, but the climatic requirements have forced the sugar manufacturers to more cautious, even small cabins are equipped with hardwood or concrete isolating them from the cold and damp soil.

Quebec monopolizes nearly 82% of world production of maple syrup and more than 90% of Canadian production. In 2000, production of maple syrup was 82.3 million pounds in Quebec. Quebec maple producers sell their maple products in over 32 countries. Real growth industry, production continues to grow, as its market share. Quebec is the largest producer of maple syrup in the world and is a leader in the manufacture of maple equipment.
Depending on the degree of cooking the sap, we get maple syrup, taffy or sugar. In general, it takes 40 gallons of sap to make one liter of syrup. To these traditional products have been added maple butter, maple jelly ... and even alcohol.

Beliefs
________

The omens:

they say, the first cries of crows herald the arrival of sugaring but when you hear those geese, or when the snow resembles coarse salt, the casting is nearing completion. It seems that even when the flow a lot Plains, spring will be big and when the snow falls thick and moist in appearance, it is a sign of a volley of sugars.

The appearance of the bird sugar
means it's time to cut, while butterflies sugars drowned in the boilers of maples herald the end of casting. Moreover, when the Big Dipper, the pan of sugar, becomes flat the horizon, the sugaring season has arrived. Depending on Beauce, when we cut the maples at the crescent moon, the casting is great but if the maple runs out too quickly at the notch, the cast will not last long.

A sunbeam passing through the curtain, and enlivened
A path lined with flowers ,

April

April, honor and woods
And months,
April, the sweet hope
Of fruit under the cotton
Button
Feed their young children;

April, the honor of green meadows Yellow
and Pers
Who mood motley
studded with flowers
In Their colors
variegated finery;

April, the honor of Sighs
The Zephyrs,
Who downwind of their wings,
forests still stand Sc The sweet snare

To impress the lovely Flora;

April, it is your gentle hand Who
breast
The nature loosens
Harvest of
scents and flowers,
fills the air and earth.
